The Dargahs of Kolar shareef possess their historical importance and are predominantly well-known for two great Qutbs who attract a large number of Ashiq-e-Awliyah namely Dargah-e-Hazrat Syedina Syed Qutb Shah Ghori (Rahmathullahi Allaih), which is located in front of Kolar Clock Tower and Dargah-e-Hazrat Khwaja Usman Shah Vali (Rahmathullah Allaih) which is on the top of Kolar Hills, so called "Kolar ke Pahad ki Dargah".

Hz Syedina Syed Qutb Shah Ghori-Kolar

The Dargah Shareef of Hazrath Syedina Syed Qutb Shah Ghori (RA) is situated in the main city of Kolar. Opposite to Kolar Clock Tower, you can find an entrance of Dargah Mohalla which is similar to Ajmeer Shareef's Dome in the name of Hazrath Syedina Syed Qutb Shah Ghori (RA).

Dargah Usman Shah Valli Kolar Hills

It is said that more than 1000 years ago, the beloved Mureeds of Hazrat Syed Qutb Shah Ghori (RA) carried his Janaza Mubarak on their shoulders as per his last instructions to bury the sacred body in a place where the Janaza Mubarak wouldn't move. The Mureeds roamed carrying Janaza Mubarak of Hazrat Syed Qutb Shah Ghori (RA) to different places for achieving the purpose and eventually reached Kolar, where they wanted to have a rest due to tiredness.

On the other hand, the soldiers of the Rani of Kolar didn't allow the Mureeds to stay even for a second and compelled them to vacate the place along with the Janaza Mubarak. Upon their request, Mureeds tried to lift up the Janaza Mubarak, astonishingly, it didn't move even bit and they became aware that Kolar was the place where the sacred body was to be buried. SubhanALLAH. The soldiers reported this incident to the Rani who was the ruler of Kolar then that the Janaza Mubarak was not moving from the place despite the fact that so many people put their efforts to lift it up from the site.

The Rani was annoyed hearing it and commanded her soldiers to bring elephants knitting them with chains and pull the Janaza Mubarak from the place it was laid at. The soldiers followed her instructions and tried to pull the Janaza Mubarak with the efforts of elephants and chains but the Karamath of Hazrat Syedina Qutb Shah Ghori (RA) was so powerful and stronger that devastated their hopeless efforts.

Finally, the Rani was won over by the Mureeds of Hazrat Syedina Qutb Shah Ghori (RA) and she permitted them to continue the burial ceremony in the place where the Dargah shareef is now situated. After the incident, people witnessed many Karamaths of Hazrath Syedina Syed Qutb Shah Ghori (RA) and became aware of his highest Darajah (status) in Wilayath and started flocking at his holy feet to gain his countless blessings.

As stated above, the other famous Dargah shareef that attracts one and all is of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Shah Vali (Rahmathullah Allaih) located in Paparajanahathi, a small village on Kolar Hills where seven villages are situated in close proximity. The Chilla Shareef or Gawi Mubarak of Hazrat Usman Shah Vali (RA) is situated in a little distance before the Dargah Shareef. It is said that there was no human being lived when Hazrat Khwaja Usman Shah Vali (RA) lived in this dreadful jungle but tigers used to roam around and used to bring food for this great Auliya when he was in Chilla (seclusion) or Zikr.

Gawi Kolar

One of the greatest Karamaths of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Shah Vali (RA) was that he once punched a rock in the hills by his holy hand and water started flowing out from there. This famous place is now called as Gaimukh. The water which comes from the hills tastes as very pure distilled natural water, sugary and icy. Not only that, the water available from the wells in this hilly region is also very sweet in nature.
